Last December, I was in Las Vegas with my husband and another couple. The trip was really fun. We went gambling on the slot machine and wheel. As a risk-averse person, I did not gamble too much. So when I was losing only 10 dollars the first day, it was not painful at all. While, I just won 10 dollars back the next day only from the slot machine. I knew my luck was back. It was really an exciting sign that I will have good luck. Surely, I do. I have very good luck to find a good job. Very challenging but interesting. Also, my handsome coworker turns out to be a very good friend. Next I got to know good friends from a local Chinese church. I need friends and caring from others. Friends really gave me a lot of joy. Another lucky thing is that my husband got two papers published on top journals. Good for him. I know my luck will continue and I am waiting for it.
While, I never want to waste my luck. When I got the 10 dollars dropping from the slot machine, I stopped gambling and changed the paper money to real money. Luck is limited. I did not want to waste it from very trivial things. I want to save it when I really need it.
However, even though I believe that I need to save luck, the mere reason is from my belief in Jesus and God. God always wants the best for me. He knows what is good for me and leads my way to wherever I can grow and become a better Christian. Luck is the grace and mercy offered by God. But the luck from things that are not decent really comes from the temptation of Satan. But it is the human nature that can not resist such temptation, so glorious from outside. So pray and see if you feel release from your heart, then go for it or stop.
